Handcrafted in India, made for your home
For over two decades we have worked directly with artisan families across India — brass casters, wood carvers, block printers and potters — to bring their craft to homes around the world.
It started with a single brass diya
ShalinIndia began with a simple belief: that the skill in a craftsman's hands deserves a wider audience than the market stall it is sold from. What started as a small family export business has grown into a catalogue of hundreds of handmade pieces — idols, lamps, kitchenware, textiles and gifts — each one sourced from the region that has made it for generations.
We still buy the way we always have. We visit the workshops. We pay fairly, up front. And we only list a piece once we would happily keep it in our own home.

What we stand for
Six things that have not changed since the day we started.
Genuinely handmade
Every piece is made by hand, so no two are identical. Small variations in finish and grain are the mark of a real artisan product, not a flaw.
Fair, direct sourcing
We buy straight from the artisans and workshops that make our products — no middlemen, and no pressure on the people doing the work.
Heritage techniques
Sand casting, hand engraving, wood inlay and block printing — the methods behind our range have been passed down through families for generations.
Shipped worldwide
Carefully packed and dispatched from our own warehouse, with tracking on every order, wherever in the world you are.
Considered materials
Solid brass, mango and sheesham wood, cotton and clay. Natural materials that age well and can be repaired rather than replaced.
People, not tickets
A real person answers every email, usually within one business day. If something arrives wrong, we make it right.
From the workshop to your door
A brass idol passes through five or six pairs of hands before it reaches you. The mould is packed in fine sand, the metal is poured, the casting is broken out and filed, then polished, engraved and lacquered — all by hand, often by members of the same family working side by side.
That is why a handmade piece takes weeks rather than minutes, and why it looks nothing like something stamped out of a machine.
